Dust Bowl/ Works Progress Administration Sites

In 1936 the Dust Bowl had peaked. Southeast Colorado was extremely hard hit by this climate catastrophe. Government aid, in the form of the Works Progress Administration, employed those out of work in order to build bridges, roads, parks, and buildings throughout the area. Today, many of these structures remain in communities across the Canyons and Plains region harkening back to the Dust Bowl Days.
